The multi-hat model

Most professionals wear multiple hats. A fractional executive might be part of three companies simultaneously. A consultant runs five to fifteen client relationships at once. A founder has investors, employees, customers, and vendors in the same inbox.

Lodestar models this reality. Each Organisation is a separate context boundary: its own email threads, files, contacts, projects, and action items. You see everything in one product but never mix one client's information with another's.

Organisations

An Organisation represents a company — your own, your employer, or a client. Create one for each entity you work with. Lodestar will automatically suggest linking email threads and contacts to the right Organisation based on domain, name mentions, and thread context.

Projects

A Project lives inside an Organisation and scopes a specific engagement, initiative, or workstream. Email threads, files, action items, meetings, and milestones all attach to a Project.

You can create Projects manually or accept Lodestar's suggestions when it detects a recurring topic cluster.

Contacts and org charts

Contacts are people extracted from your email and messages. Lodestar builds a lightweight org chart for each Organisation based on email signatures, CC patterns, and seniority signals. Org charts appear in meeting prep and sentiment views.
